Day 1: CZ CM Mobilizes to Site
On Day 1, CZ Construction Management mobilized to the site in Beacon Hill to kick off the high-end bathroom renovation. Our team began by setting up the job site with proper signage and implementing extensive protection measures to ensure the home remains safe and clean throughout the project.

As we’ve just kicked off our latest project in Beacon Hill, we’ve gone above and beyond to safeguard the home, especially because it’s an occupied space.

Day 2: Selective Demolition Begins
Today, our team at CZ Construction Management began the selective demolition phase of the high-end bathroom renovation in Beacon Hill. This involves carefully removing specific elements while preserving the integrity of the surrounding structure.
We removed the existing tub, tile walls, tile flooring, vanity, mirror, and lighting to prepare for the luxurious upgrades ahead. During this process, we take great care to minimize disruption for the homeowners by keeping noise levels as low as possible throughout the day.
Additionally, we make it a priority to thoroughly clean all common spaces at the end of each workday, ensuring the building remains livable and comfortable during the renovation.
Day 3: Replacing the Studs for a Stronger Foundation
Today, CZ Construction Management took a critical step in the renovation process by replacing the existing wall studs in the bathroom. Over time, the original studs had weakened due to moisture exposure, which is a common issue in older Boston homes.
Day 4: Plumbing Rough-In and Fixture Installation
CZ Construction Management completed the plumbing rough-in today for the bathroom renovation in Beacon Hill. This critical phase involved installing the necessary plumbing infrastructure to support the new fixtures.
We installed the new bathtub and the shower system rough-in. Additionally, we prepped the plumbing for the new vanity, ensuring it is perfectly positioned for the vanity that will be installed in the final stages of the project.
Completing the plumbing rough-in is a crucial milestone that allows us to now call for our in wall inspections.

Day 5: Electrical Rough-In
Today we completed the electrical rough-in for the bathroom renovation. We installed essential electrical features, including GFCI outlets, light switches, and wiring for the heated floor system. This included the power connection for the heated floor and its thermostat, ensuring the bathroom will be warm and comfortable.
We also installed the circuit for the vanity light, setting the stage for functional and stylish lighting in the finished space.
With the electrical work done, we’re ready to move forward with the rough electrical inspection.
Day 6: Rough-In Wall Inspections
Today was an important milestone for the bathroom renovation in Beacon Hill. CZ Construction Management scheduled the building, electrical, and plumbing inspections on the same day to ensure everything was up to code and progressing smoothly.
We’re happy to report that all inspections were successful, and the project is moving forward without any delays. This step confirms that the rough-in work for the walls, plumbing, and electrical systems meets Boston’s safety and building standards. This is a big accomplishment as we only started construction six days ago. We were able to accomplish this due to our thorough planning in the pre construction phase of the project.
With the inspections complete, we’re ready to continue transforming this bathroom into a beautiful, high-end space. Check out the tile we will be installing below.
Day 7: Insulation and Drywall Installation
Day 7 CZ Construction Management took the next big step in the bathroom renovation by installing insulation and drywall!
Once the insulation was in place, we installed the drywall, closing up the walls and preparing the room for the next stages of the renovation.
With the drywall installed, we’re one step closer to the final vision. On Monday we will start installing the tile so stay tuned! Check out the photo below of our trade partner taping the drywall.
Days 8-10: Tile Prep and Installation
Over the past few days, CZ Construction Management focused on prepping and installing the tile in the bathroom. This step is where the space truly starts to take shape, setting the foundation for a stunning final look.
We began by carefully preparing the surfaces for tile installation, ensuring everything was properly waterproofed and leveled. The centerpiece of this phase was the creation of a full-wall-length niche on the back wall, which is seamlessly integrated into the tile design. The tile flows directly into the niche, creating a sleek, cohesive look that blends both function and beauty.
The tile installation is progressing beautifully, and we’re excited to see how this feature will enhance the overall luxury of the space.

Day 11: Grouting the Tile
Today, CZ Construction Management completed the grouting process for the newly installed tile in the bathroom. This final touch brings the tilework together, enhancing both its appearance and durability. The grout fills the spaces between the tiles, creating clean, defined lines and adding to the seamless integration of the full-wall-length niche on the back wall.
Using high-quality, water-resistant grout ensures that the tile will not only look stunning but will also stand up to daily use in this high-end bathroom.
With the grout in place, the room is really starting to come together!
Days 12 & 13: Plastering and Priming the Walls
Over the past two days, CZ Construction Management focused on plastering and priming the bathroom walls, bringing us closer to the final stages of this high-end renovation. After installing the drywall and completing the tile work, we applied a smooth layer of plaster to ensure a flawless finish.
Once the plaster dried, we moved on to priming the walls, preparing them for the final paint application. The primer ensures a smooth, even surface and helps the paint adhere better, setting the stage for the elegant colors and finishes that will complete the space.
With the walls plastered and primed, we’re excited to move forward with the finishing touches in the coming days!
Day 14: Vanity and Recessed Mirror Installation
Today, CZ Construction Management made significant progress by installing the teak vanity and recessed vanity mirror in the bathroom. The vanity, crafted from high-quality teak, adds a touch of natural warmth to the space while maintaining a sleek, modern design. Topped with a quartz countertop, it provides both beauty and durability, perfectly complementing the high-end finishes throughout the room.
We also installed the recessed vanity mirror, which seamlessly blends into the wall for a clean, streamlined look. This design choice not only enhances the functionality of the bathroom but also adds to its modern aesthetic.
With the vanity and mirror in place, the bathroom is really starting to take shape, moving closer to the final reveal!
