What to Expect When We Start Working in Your Home

At CZ Construction Management, we know how personal your home is — and how disruptive a renovation project can feel. Whether it’s a kitchen remodel, bathroom upgrade, or full-home renovation, our goal is to make the process as smooth and predictable as possible. Here’s what you can expect when we start working in your home:

1. Clear Communication from Day One

Before we ever set foot in your home, we’ll have a detailed project plan in place. You’ll know the scope, schedule, and budget. All official communication will happen through our project management system, JobTread, so nothing gets missed. We’re always available for questions, and we encourage open communication throughout the process.

2. A Respectful, Professional Team

Our crews understand they’re working in your personal space. You can expect professional, courteous behavior from every subcontractor and team member. We enforce strict jobsite etiquette — clean language, no loud music, and respectful interaction with homeowners and neighbors.

3. Jobsite Protection, Cleanliness, and a Clear Path

We take protecting your home seriously. Before starting work, we install dust protection, floor protection, and any necessary containment measures. Our crews clean up daily and leave your home as tidy as possible during construction.

We also need a clear, safe path to the construction area. Please move any furniture, personal items, or breakables that may be in the way before work starts. This helps keep your belongings protected and allows our team to move materials and tools efficiently.

4. Pet Safety During Construction

We also ask for your help in keeping pets safe.

If we’re sharing an entrance or working in areas your pet normally has access to, we kindly request that your pet be kept in a separate, secured room during work hours. Construction zones can be hazardous, and we want to avoid any risk of injury or your pet accidentally slipping out the door.

We’re animal people ourselves, and we want to make sure your pet stays safe and stress-free throughout the project.

5. Access and Lockbox Policy

We typically use a lockbox for key access during your project. In some cases, especially on longer jobs or when multiple subcontractors are involved, we may temporarily swap your door hardware for a keypad lock. This allows secure access for the crew and ensures the door automatically locks when they leave.

We will always discuss this with you ahead of time and make sure your home remains secure throughout the project.

6. Defined Work Hours

Our typical working hours are 8:00AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We’ll coordinate access with you in advance, and unless there’s an emergency or special request, we won’t be there outside of those hours.

7. Transparency Around Changes

If unexpected issues come up — and in remodeling, they sometimes do — we’ll communicate right away. Whether it’s hidden conditions, material availability, or requested changes, you’ll always be informed and in control before any decisions are made.

8. Milestone Check-Ins

We check in with you at key project milestones: after demolition, rough inspections, finishes install, and punch list completion. This keeps you informed on progress and gives you a chance to address any questions as the work advances.

9. Our Commitment to a Great Outcome

At the end of the day, our goal is simple: deliver a high-quality project with as little disruption as possible. We want you to feel confident that you chose the right contractor — one who respects your home, your time, and your investment.
